Project title: Scaling up HIV Prevention Interventions among Key Populations and other high risk populations in Urban and Peri-urban Areas in Uganda.

Project Goal: To contribute to the reduction of HIV incidence by 30% by 2015

Geographical Coverage: Kampala –Makindye, Kalungu-lukaya, Kalangala, Mukono, Lira, . Nebbi, Buliisa, Hoima Busia, Moroto, Kotido

Targeted direct project beneficiaries: Vulnerable Youth in slums, Couples including pregnant women, CSWs, Uniformed personnel & their partners, Fisher folk Trucker, Youth out of school General population, Others (Specify) Boda Bodas

Intervention Areas and Costs: Behavior change communication (BCC), HIV Counseling & Testing (HCT), Elimination of mother to child transmission of HIV (eMTCT), Safe Male Circumcision, Condom Programming ,Gender Sexual and reproductive health services ,Networking and Advocacy Socioeconomic and structural

Project Objectives

Objective 1: To increase the adoption of safer sexual behavior targeting 86,434 individuals among the key populations and other high risk populations in 11 selected districts and Police by end of September 2015
Objective 2: To increase access and utilization of comprehensive HIV prevention services to 17,880 individuals among the key populations and other high risk populations in 11 selected districts by end of September 2015
Objective 3: To create a sustainable enabling environment that mitigates underlying social cultural, gender and other structural drivers of HIV transmission among key populations and other high risk populations by December 2015
Objective 4: To strengthen the capacity of eleven (11) targeted urban local governments for better coordination enhanced referral systems and partnerships to ensure quality service delivery among the key populations.
